103. Fact - Calcification Part 3.

Calcifying Copper through means of Calcium in Plaster of Paris.



I filled a saucepan with water and added approximately one part plaster to 10 parts water. I then stirred this until it boiled and continued to stir after adding Copper to the liquid until it had evaporated almost completely. I then added more water to dilute the remaining Plaster of Paris, several times until it was almost fully evaporated. On removing the Copper, the shiny surface became clouded with a plastery finish.

Problem? Finish rubs off. Hmm.
